Peace Action Wisconsin is a grassroots organization dedicated to building a world free from violence, exploitation, and oppression. We work to:
- Abolish nuclear weapons and shut down nuclear power
- End militarism and war profiteering
- Dismantle systems of racism, sexism, classism, and colonialism

- Oppose corporate greed, environmental racism, and labor exploitation
- Support human rights movements locally, nationally, and globally
π Our Story
Peace Action Wisconsin began in March 1977 as the Mobilization for Survival, part of a national network resisting nuclear weapons and power. We opposed the arms race and supported social justice movements demanding a reallocation of military spending to meet human needs.
In 1996, we joined National Peace Action, formed from the SANE/Freeze movement to abolish nuclear weapons. By 1999, we became Peace Action Wisconsin, with a grassroots mission focused on resisting war and promoting public peace education.
From the start, weβve embraced nonviolence as the path to justice, equity, and sustainability.
