John Nichols is author and co-author of more than a dozen books on politics, journalism and U.S. foreign policy. John is a pioneer political blogger, having written The Online Beat since 1999. He is contributing writer to The Progressive, and his articles have appeared in dozens of major newspapers in the US and abroad. A frequent guest on national TV programs, Nichols has appeared in documentaries focusing on issues of American democracy, journalism and war and peace. His books focus on politics, "the genius of impeachment," and give critical reviews of the quality of print and electronic journalism. Co-authored with Robert McChesney, his most recent book, the Death and Life of American Journalism will be available for signing and purchase at the lecture.
