Educational presentation on water scarcity and its affects on the women of Sub-Saharan Africa.

  The lack of wells, streams and over-irrigated rivers places monumental pressures on the women who are traditionally responsible for their households’ water needs. African women and girls sacrifice their health, education and employment opportunities because of social and environmental pressures to provide for the well-being of the community. Professors from the geography department of UWM will be speaking.
  This event offers information, refreshments and opportunities for action to help those who suffer from water scarcity and gender inequalities.
