Peace Action staff is used to working within our means, with a small budget and unorthodox solutions. However, we have two pieces of equipment that need to be replaced for safety and effectiveness.
Our bullhorn, a necessity for rallies and demonstrations, has amplified its last chant. We've been borrowing bullhorns from other organizations and from our volunteers, but having one of our own is important as we grow our public presence. A new bullhorn is approximately $50.
We use our paper cutter every day for thousands of flyers and brochures, and it has served nobly for a full century. However, it's not terribly sharp or terribly safe. The sign posted behind it warns users that the blade, mounted on a cast iron guillotine arm "has been known to come down unexpectedly and cut more than paper." We would like to upgrade to something made in this century that doesn't threaten our well-being.
A good quality, medium-duty paper cutter costs approximately $140.
